Jim Carter

Jim (also known as James) joined the Board of Directors in 2018 and serves on the Quality Committee.

Immediately following High School Jim joined the RCMP where he attained leadership skills and life experiences. He also obtained a Commercial Pilot’s License and while stationed in Woodstock, N.B. flew for Brunswick Air Services on his time off doing Air Charters, Crop Spraying for Fire Patrols and Aerial photography for N.B Lands and Forests.

Jim’s career prior to retiring after 33 years as a S/Sgt. in the RCMP took him to Four(4) Provinces, NFLD/LAB,N.B.,N.S., and Ontario. He was transferred approximately 15 different times for various times where he commanded numerous Detachments providing Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Policing Services offered by the RCMP. While stationed in HQ’S Ottawa he assisted in preparing and presenting to Treasury Board a specific Secret Budget which he monitored, analyzed and dispersed throughout Canada.

His other interests and community services included servingon other Boards; Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada, Several Minor Hockey Associations, and Lion’s Club. He also coached other teams and one in particular was the Senior Girls Soccer Team for Windsor Regional High School which went to the United States and played at Boston University.

Jim is an avid Golfer and plays at Avon Valley Golf Club here in Falmouth.

Jim’s main interest in joining the Board was his familiarity with other facilities as both of his parents spent their last years at the North Side Guest Home, in North Sydney, N.S
