A beauty parlour is located in the Village Center. A full-time hairstylist and assistant work Monday to Friday from 9 am to mid-afternoon (dependant on demand). Appointments may be made by staff or family members directly with the hairdresser. Residents pay for this service at a reasonable rate.
The local bookmobile visits the Windsor Elms once a month. Personal requests for books may be listed with the bookmobile librarian by leaving requests with the Receptionist. The Elms possesses a selection of books – located in each Neighbourhood Library and Neighbourhood Center.
Residents or their Power of Attorney are asked to subscribe directly with Newspaper companies, and make arrangements for delivery to the Windsor Elms.
The Halifax Herald is delivered daily to the Neighbourhoods. The Hants Journal is delivered weekly and circulated along with other mail to the Resident.
A mailbag is available at the Receptionist’s desk. Mail is delivered and picked up daily from the Receptionist Area. Mail, letters are delivered daily to Resident Rooms. Stamps are available for sale from the Reception Desk.

A Family Room is located in Fundyview Terrace (Neighbourhood) to provide extra privacy and comfort to our Residents and their families. Preference will be given to families of a Resident who is ill or palliative. A Resident and his/her family can also use this room just to get away from the usual routine on the floor and enjoy extra quiet and comfort.
